Identity Hack (projection/video (loop), (7) 8.5x11" printed text and images, and surround sound audio, 2018)
Identity Hack took place on the Instagram account @imsicklical from March 25, 2018 - May 20, 2018. In this experiment, I gave 7 different participants the password to my personal Instagram account for one week. The project begins with an offer to Participant #1, my best friend, to hack my identity and ends with Participant #7, someone who I do not know, changing the password to my account. Identity Hack uses Instagram as a platform to interrogate the concepts of digital identity, data surveillance, and social media conventions.
Identity Hack was created during the Storytellers' Institute and shown in the Schick Gallery, Storytellers Institute Residence Show.
